Rene Descartes said, “I think therefore I am.” At Elan we say, “We are what we think. We are what we feel. And we are what we do in relationship to other people.”

Values EducationIQ-EQ-SQ: Exploring The New Frontier of Educational and psychological research has revealed that IQ (Intelligence Quotient) is not the key determiner for a successful and satisfying life. The dynamic Quest 4 Values curriculum explores the core concepts of IQ, EQ, SQ as critical competencies for success and satisfaction in the world. It examines the ‘qualities’ of our learning Intelligence skills, Emotional responses, and Social relationship skills.

Values Education

The Quest4Values Curriculum

In every year level, from the primary through the secondary levels, the Quest4Values programme helps students bring balance to their lives by highlighting IQ, EQ, and SQ in a weighted interdependent manner.

In each year the IQ, EQ, and SQ competencies are highlighted through the use of key words in each chapter. Then those key words are enriched with personal and team learning activities, stories, discussion points, written exercises, as well as life models.

This rich multi-sensory approach makes for high impact learning with a long -term affect. Students are encouraged to reflect on their behaviour, think for themselves, engage with their peers in a collaborative manner, and feel empathy for the needs and concerns of others.

In this way, they grow in intellectual, social and emotional skills as well as responsibility and accountability as the years progress.
